I have not posted on my blog in days. With the brief span of time I have to research and edit my posts between my day job and spending time with my son, it should be expected that some gaps appear. That being said, I must state that the talk radio scene has been mainly about an issue I felt was mostly local. That is until our president made comments on it in reply to a misplaced question at the end of a “health care reform” conference.
JULY 23–Here are the police reports detailing the confrontation last week between Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and Cambridge cops, who were condemned last night by President Barack Obama for acting “stupidly” in arresting the African-American scholar. Cops responded to Gates’s house after neighbor Lucia Whalen reported spotting “two black males with backpacks” trying to gain entry to the home (Gates, returning home from a trip overseas, and his driver were contending with a stuck front door). The Cambridge Police Department reports, authored by Sergeant James Crowley and Officer James Figueroa, quote an incensed Gates yelling, “This is what happens to black men in America!,” and, when asked by Crowley to speak with him outside the residence, Gates replied, “ya, I’ll speak with your mama outside.” A disorderly conduct rap was filed against Gates, but quickly dropped by prosecutors. Gates is reportedly considering legal action against the Cambridge police.
President Obama is quoted to say exactly this “I don’t know all the facts.” then later in his lengthly reply states “I don’t know what role race played in that but I think its fair to say that any of us would be pretty angry” then he says the police “acted stupidly”.
OK!
No! I for one would be very happy that police responded quickly to a call that my home was potentially being invaded. I would cooperate and be eager to show that everything was normal and show my identification. In this the president clearly is making a racial judgement of the situation.
Now on Gates. This man is in the business of learning about this very topic. He was clearly angry and he himself acted with racial bias. As a result he was arrested, which I believe is exactly what he wanted.
And thats just my take on this whole thing.
And by the way. I wanted to post the you tube video of our president speaking on this issue, but the the embedding code is disable by request (By the united states government?).
So in summary. Gates and Obama are racists and Officer Crowley who actually instructs a class on the topic of racial profiling…is the victim.

“I just want to put everybody on notice, because there was a lot of chatter during the week that I was gone: We are going to get this done,” the president said. “Inaction is not an option. And for those naysayers and cynics who think that this is not going to happen, don’t bet against us.”
Mr. Obama I live in Massachusetts. I effectively allready have what you intend and let my just say … it is a horrible system. It does not fix anything and I think that you know it won’t. But that argument is for another day. The argument for today is this: WE DON’T WANT YOUR HEALTH REFORM! Its going to destroy whats left of our economy and while I COULD put up some facts to back up my plight, I don’t need to. EVERYONE knows that this is a bad idea. No country has done what you are trying to do and done it well. In the end we lose more freedoms and more money and the health care system will NOT get better.
True Story: I worked for a company in Peabody Massachusetts for a little over a year. While working for said company I was promoted and given a raise. This raise put me in a higher bracket and so masshealth (our states version of obamacare ) cut me off as a result. This is where my employer comes in, who was required to offer me insurance via work. What I didn’t know is, this employer has allready made up his mind that it was more cost effective to pay the fine for not offering the insurance. So this left me without, and eventually cost me fines myself.
Now you may be asking…well if we had national health care that would not have happened. But you see Mr. Obama … it would have happened. And at that point my only choice would be to take the public option. SO don’t lie to your constituents. YOU CAN NOT keep your existing health care under Obama’s plan. This is just one point to make out of many points I could make. But I should not need to rant on since America is smart enough to see this for what it really is, another power grab.
Sonia Sotomayor, the first Hispanic Supreme Court nominee in history, vowed loyalty to “the impartiality of our justice system” Monday, confronting concerned Republican at Senate hearings alarmed by racial politics. While Lindsey Graham assures her “Unless you have a complete meltdown, you’re going to get confirmed”.
Excuse me!
This is the same woman who is quoted as saying
“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would, more often than not, reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life” not once but at least five times in speeches delivered in 1994, 1999, 2002, 2001 and 2004.
“Even though Article IV of the Constitution says that treaties are the ’supreme law of the land,’ in most instances they’re not even law.”
And finally this gem! “All of the legal defense funds out there, they’re looking for people out there with court of appeals experience, because court of appeals is where policy is made. And I know, I know this is on tape and I should never say that because we don’t make law, I know. I know.”
Now she is at the senate hearing and all of her statements seem to try and hide the things she seemed to have held high her entire career. This behavior reminds be alot of my six year old son, who when told he can’t go to the movies if he doesn’t clean his room…promptly changes his mind about cleaning his room. If you consider this all and the CLEAR FACT that she has to lie to get a pass from senate, and then add the DOCUMENTED FACT that her turn over rate is around 60%!!!! Then anyone with a brain and an interest in the United States Constitution would vote her out! Come on you republicans in the senate, REPRESENT YOUR CONSTITUENTS!
City of Heroes (CoH) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game based on the superhero comic book genre, developed by Cryptic Studios and published by NCsoft. The game was launched in North America on April 28, 2004 and in Europe (by NCsoft Europe) on 4 February 2005 with English, German and French language servers. Fifteen free major updates (Issues) for City of Heroes have been released since its launch. The newest update, “Anniversary”, was released on June 26th, 2009.
When the game was initially released it was new and creative. The game has the most customizable character creator to date. Since the game was intended to be a lite MMO without player vs player combat, some major changes in a later update upset many of its player base and caused many to leave. Some have returned to give the game another chance and some are gone for good.
The games more recent update known as Issue 14: Architect has again caused a stir in its community. The major feature of the update is a brave venture for the developers because it passes creative control over to the individual player. In this, the player can create his/her own story arcs and missions but leaves alot of room for them to find exploits as well.
In a planned future update, its been suggested that the heroes and villains can effectively betray their side of the game. This sounds like a good idea, but again leaves alot of room for exploits if it isn’t implimented with great care. But on this, we have to wait and see since its release is intended for retail shelves sometime in september of 2009.
A word on game mechanic: This game is easy to learn and easy to navigate. The game has only ever bumped its level maximum once and so its easy to catch up to freinds who have played it longer.
Playability: 5 Stars
Replayability: 4 Stars

Hello and good evening. As promised, I picked apart the day in conservative talk radio in order to bring the gems home to post on my blog. And yes the topic that dominated the was Sarah Palin. There was some talk of supreme court judge nominee Sotomayor. Bradley Blakeman: “Barring any Perry Mason moments, Judge Sotomayor will be Justice Sotomayor. Republicans need to do their Constitutional duty and be respectful.” But the talk of Alaska’s governor proved to be far more popular.
Today it came out on the Rush Limbaugh show that Sarah Palin in more and more frequently being called “the female Rush Limbaugh” and “Rush Limbaugh in a skirt”. I don’t see how anyone can make this comparison other than they are both veracious conservative republicans. But that hardly makes them the same.
I heard a few more conversations on the questions surrounding Governor Palin’s recent announcement that she is not running for reelection and would be resigning at the end of the month. It has been suggested that this is a strategy for her plans to run for another office. Others suggest that she is fleeing the constant attack of ethics investigations. I think that she left office for the most obvious of reasons. She has been slammed and attack on all fronts relentlessly from the second she became McCains running mate. Coupled with the insults directed at her daughter and son whom suffers down syndrome, this would make anyone loose focus on the original goal as governor. I think she is resigning because of the shamelfull democratics and republicans who hit her with barrage after barrage of baseless accusations and insults effectively keep her from performing effectively and she knows it. So this raises the question: Is it Sarah Palin 2012 or is it Sarah Failin 2012?
I believe that it is Sarah Failin 2012. I hurt internally when uttering this because I feel she could make a great president if she could get a little better in front of a microphone. But the way she has handled this all has damaged the way she will be viewed if and when she chooses to run for an office again. And John Zeigler didn’t help matters very much when he confronted MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer after the dirty old man David Letterman made a joke about Sarah’s 14 year old daughter being raped at a baseball game. John did defend Palin and nearly made Contessa cry in the process, but he was very confrontational and and lacked professionalism.
This is the first post on a brand new blog. I named this site “The Daily Drive” because I intend to post content gathered during the day from talk radio and other sources that I listen to while driving I listen to conservative talk radio, and follow a great many political topics with great interest. I have felt I needed a place to just put up my commentary on many of the things discussed since I can never get the hosts on the phone (have you ever tried this? BUSY! INDEFINITELY!). To keep things interesting, I will also try to occasionally post personal reviews on movies, music, and video games since these are another popular topic.
I know that blogging is ever more popular as time goes on, and while some people don’t seem to want to give it a chance (even myself until recently), I feel that its a good way to get the word out on what you think is important. This gives friends, family, and strangers the ability to respond and comment to help you gauge you current level of sanity. No but seriously, its good to see how other people feel and think about your views. Blogs help you to better refine and articulate a days worth of information.
So HELLO WORLD! From the admin of The Daily Drive.
